Is the overwhelming amount of candy on Halloween leaving you dreading Trick-or-Treating?!? We love using our costumes more than once - attending trunk-or-treats, Halloween parties, and of course embarking on a night of trick-or-treating in our neighborhood. However, with three active trick-or-treaters the quantity of candy that returns to the house is daunting. What to do with Left Over Halloween Candy
First, set expectations about how much candy you find acceptable to consume each day as well as a cut off date for candy donations. Many schools collect Halloween candy a week or two after Halloween. If you are ready to be done with your candy before the drive or your school doesn't have one, consider donating your candy to Operation Gratitude. Individuals and organizations can collect extra Halloween candy and send it to troops overseas.
